The Zager ZAD-50CE that I just got (March 20th, 2010) is a cutaway Dreadnought Style Acoustic/electric with Solid Spruce top and mahogany sides and back (probably plywood, but don't know for sure). The neck is also mahogany and has a rosewood freeboard with 20 frets. According to the Zager website, www.zagerguitar.com.
Sound: 9
That said, Zager Guitar has a nice well-rounded sound. I looked seriously at Seagulls, but the ones in my price range ($400 - $600) all had cedar tops, which to me are just too dead sounding. The Zager rings when you play it. It's fitted with very light gauge a string which probably helps. For a "compromised Dreadnought" (it has the cutaway), it sounds pretty good, and I'm happy with it.
Action, Fit, & Finish: 9
As mentioned, the overall fit and finish is flawless. I know I'm supposed to be critical here, but I can find no fault in it. Most guitars with mahogany woods are darker in color. The mahogany on this one is amber, and it's just really nice to look at. I will be very honest at this point and say that I'm not sure there's all that much to Zager's "string
Reliability/Durability: 8
I really, really, really wanted a guitar that was made either in the U.S., Canada, or Japan (like an Alvarez Year). My second choice would be Korea, and then China or Indonesia. The Zager is made in Indonesia in the same factory where Martin's "Sigma" guitars are made.

All my dealings with the company, so far, have been very quick and friendly. Haven’t had the guitars long enough to warrant repairs.

I love that the Zager is beautiful, sounds very nice, and is fairly easy to play. I hate that it's made in Indonesia. I love having touches like the Abalone Inlay around the sound hole, and Grover tuning heads. If I'd had the money, I would've bought a Yair. I didn't and think that the Zager is a good choice.
