why does my acoustic guitar g string sound wrong?
I'm a complete beginner when it comes to guitars so i don't know if this is a little problem that can be fixed easily or a big problem that needs to be checked out. Whenever i play an open g string, it always sounds high, and when i tune it, my electronic tuner reads it as an a. No matter what i do whether i tighten or loosen the string it is still being read as an a. Its a fender guitar that i got 3 months ago and back then the g string sounded like it was supposed to. Now it sounds like crap.
Any solutions?
btw, i haven't changed any of the strings. Its still the same when i first got them.

Since the G string is the thinnest wound string on acoustic, it's possible that the "winding" has broken, causing the string to go bad.
