Action too high on my guitar?
I'm currently away from home for a couple months working on a show, and I'm playing an Art & Lutherie Acoustic Guitar (not sure on the specs of the guitar, sorry!) but the action is MUCH too high for me to play easily... If I bring the guitar into where it was bought, can they adjust this for me? Or is it just the guitar, and I have to live with it?

Anyone skilled with guitar adjustments can make it more playable for you! It's commonly not a big deal unless there's something terribly wrong with the guitar (something I doubt very much). An no - this is not something you will have to live with; way too many people suffer from guitars which have not been properly adjusted...
A proper acoustic guitar set up involves picking the right strings first (since the adjustments will need to be tailored to the string gauge and tension). Lighter strings are easier to play - heavier strings give more sound/tone.
After the strings are changed, you will need to have the neck truss rod adjusted so that the neck has a perfect relief - for most players this is almost always a very slight relief (an almost straight neck with a tiny up-bow).
Then it's time to adjust the action at the bridge to suit your playing style. Finally, the action at the nut is adjusted accordingly.
Done properly by a skilled tech, the guitar will feel like a totally new instrument. Most guitars suffer from an action which is too high at the nut in particular. Please observe that filing the nut slots is not something you'll do yourself - and also it's the last of the adjustments to be made.
There are other steps to make any acoustic (or electric) guitar sound better, by doing tweaks to the intonation. However, the steps described above are probably more than enough for most players
